Day 01 – Airport / Colombo

On arrival at the Bandanaike International Airport, Katunayaka you will experience your first taste of Sri Lanka hospitality. Representative of Rosen Tours (Pvt) Limited will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel in Colombo.
Enjoy a city tour of sightseeing and shopping. Explore Fort, the former administration bastille of British Ceylon, the Old Parliament Building, a Hindu temple and a Dutch Church.

Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Aukana Buddha Statue and Independence Square. Spend an afternoon shopping at the country’s best bargain centres including House of Fashion, ODEL, and Noritake Porcelain centre.

Day 02 – Colombo / Dambulla

Head to Dambulla, in search of the great cave temple built in the first century BC. Built on a vast isolated rock mass, which is 500 feet high and a mile around the base, the temple has spread over 80 caves, which served as a shrine room, library, living chambers and chanting room to a host of bikkhus who lived at the monastery in its heydays.
The main attraction of the monastery is its shrine room, which spreads over five large caves. With walls covered in colourful murals depicting the life stories of Gautama Buddha, during his journey through samsara and 150 life size Buddha statues among many other of Buddhist deities and kings, the temple is one of the best specimens of Buddhist cave temples in the country.
Declared a UNESCO heritage site in 1996, the temple has undergone a series a recovery and renovation since and is under a continuous preservation process.

Day 03 – Dambulla / Sigiriya / Dambulla

Continue the journey to Sigiriya, the rock fortress of beautiful damsels.
Declared as the 8th world wonder and a UNESCO heritage site, Sigiriya was the fortress of King Kasyapa, the patricidal king who ruled over Sri Lanka during the fifth century. The king modelled a lion shaped rock fortress and a palace within perimeters in fear of his revenge seeking brother and fate. World celebrated for the frescoes of lovely damsels, Sigiriya and its architecture continue to amaze the world even today.

Day 04 – Dambulla / Kandy

After breakfast proceed to Kandy, the last kingdom of Sri Lanka and its cultural capital.
Located 488 meters above sea level and surrounded by beautiful mountains Kandy is home to the country’s last royal palace and the temple of the tooth relic. Named as a Heritage City for its concentrated cultural richness Kandy overwhelms its visitors with many cultural and natural attractions including

  • Famous Hindu and Skanda shrine
  • The Royal Botanical Garden Peradeniya, which houses one of the finest plant and orchid specimens in South Asia.
  • The University of Peradeniya, country’s most scenic university founded by British 60 Years ago
  • Public market place of Kandy
  • Gem Museum.

Wind the day with a Cultural show with traditional forms of Dance and Music of Sri Lanka.

Day 05 – Kandy / Pinnawala / Kandy

The world’s first and largest elephant orphanage which houses 81 elephants of three generations is located by river Mahaoya in Pinnawala, Sri Lanka. The facility houses many elephants who has come to the orphanage as babies abandoned and injured in the while. It also provides refuge to adult elephants who has sustained injury in the hands of humans or who have lost their limbs to mines during the thirty years long war.
Visitors to the orphanage can enjoy the sight of these gentle giants taking their daily dip at Mahaoya and lend a helping hand in feeding the baby elephants.

Day 06 – Kandy/Bentota

Head to one of Sri Lanka’s favourite beach resorts, Bentota after breakfast while enjoying the spectacular natural display on your way.
Situated at a lagoon, where the Benthara River meets the sea, Bentota is a vibrant resort city with a cluster of tourist hotels, shopping arcades, restaurants and an open air theatre which holds traditional cultural shows and modern concerts.
