Day 01 - Colombo International Airport /Colombo
On arrival at the Colombo International Airport.
You will get your first taste of warm Sri Lanka hospitality: Representative from Rosen Tours (Pvt) Limited will welcome you and transfer to Global Tower in Colombo.
Colombo – The capital of Sri Lanka is located in the west coast. Guests will be taken on a city tour that includes: Fort, the former British administrative center, a Hindu Temple, and a Dutch Church. Also the BMICH, see the replica of Awukana Buddha Statue and Independence Square.
Shopping tour is added, and the guests can shop at famous garments, Noritake Porcelain Center.
Day 02 - Colombo/Dambulla
Dambulla is a vast isolated rock mass 500ft high and a mile around the base. Here is found the famous Rock Temple dating to the First Century BC. The cave of Dambulla sheltered the king Walagamba during his 14 years of exile from Anuradhapura. When he regained the king throne he built the most magnificent of Rock temples to be found on the Island. In the first cave is a recumbent image of the Buddha 47ft long cut out of the rock. There are imagers of deities associated with Buddhism all around. The frescoes on the ceiling date back to the 15th - 18th Centuries. In the second Cave, the finest and the largest of all, there are 150 life-size statues of Gods from the Buddhist religion along with numerous images of the Buddha himself, the ceiling is also covered with frescoes, which depict great events in the life of the Buddha and landmarks in the history of the Sinhala people.
Day 03 - Dambulla/Sigiriya & back
Sigiriya dates back from over 7,000 years ago, through Pre-Historic to Proto-Historic to Early Historic times, then as a rock-shelter mountain monastery from about the 3rd century BC, with caves prepared and donated by devotees to the sangha The garden city and the palace was built by Kasyapa 477 - 495 AD. Then after Kasyapa's death it was a monastery complex upto about the 14th century.
The Mahavansa, the ancient historical record of Sri Lanka, describes King Kasyapa as a parricide, who murdered his father King Dhatusena by walling him up alive and then usurping the throne which rightfully belonged to his brother Mogallana. To escape from the armies of
Mogallana, Kasyapa is said to have built his palace on the summit of Sigiriya, but Mogallana finally managed to get to Kasyapa and he committed suicide.
Day 04 - Dambulla/Kandy
Kandy is the last capital of the Sinhala kings of Sri Lanka, which ceded to the British throne in 1815 closing the uninterrupted Sri Lanka history of native kings for 2500 years, Kandy is an example of the Buddhism influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple’s shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere. Located 448 meters above sea level and surrounded by the beautiful mountains
and valleys. Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic – ever since 4th Century A.D. when the Buddha’s Tooth was drought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hand in an Orissan princess’ hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka’s most prized possession.
Recently, Kandy has been named as a “Heritage City”. Also do city tour in Kandy Town.
Sightseeing & shopping Tour in Kandy. The other places of interest include, Upper Lake Drive Market Square, Art and Craft and Gem Museum.
Evening you can see a Cultural show, reenacting the traditional forms of Dance and Music of Sri Lanka.
Day 05 - Kandy/Pinnawala & back
Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is an orphanage and breeding ground established in 1975 for abandoned elephants in Sri Lanka. Pinnawala is located on Rambukkana Road, near Kegalla, Sri Lanka, and is currently home to one of the largest elephant herds in captivity in the world with more than sixty elephants.
Visitors to the park can view many different aspects of the care and daily routine of the elephants including watching the babies being hand-fed from large bottles, as well as being able to observe the elephants walk to and bathe in the nearby Maha Oya River.
Day 06 - Kandy/Bentota
Bentota city is famous for golden beaches; Bentota is situated on the southern coastal tip of the Galle District of the Southern Province. The town is a popular tourist attraction. It is especially famous among the foreign tourists. The name comes from a mythical story which dates back to kings time saying a demon called Bem ruled this river ( tota = river bank. Bentota hosts a handful of world proclaimed hotels. It is the hosting land for the famous Sri Lankan Jeweler Aida. Bentota also delivers an ancient art of healing called Ayurweda. Bentota is also famous for its production in Toddy. An alcoholic beverage made out of coconut nectar.
